Hosting
The hosting layer is the physical foundation everything else runs on. There are two decisions to make here:
Which provider? Not all providers are equal in terms of values, data jurisdiction, and pricing model. For organisations like unions, it matters whether data stays in Europe, whether the provider is commercially aligned with your values, and whether pricing scales predictably. See Providers for an overview.
What server? The server needs to be sized correctly upfront — running out of disk space later is painful. A separate data disk is strongly recommended to keep OS and service storage independent. See Server Requirements for what we run on.
Once these are in place, the hosting layer requires minimal ongoing attention. Updates, restarts, and firewall rules are handled through the Coolify layer.
